It was a blessing to have Stephanie with us during labor, as she was able to speak for us in times that our focus was elsewhere in the delivery room. ““We used Sacred Spaces for the birth of our sweet baby boy in December 2016. Stephanie was a wonderful doula and photographer. This was our first child, so it was great when she met with my husband and me before the birth and helped us prepare physically and emotionally for the experience of labor! During labor Stephanie was a constant support. She guided my husband in ways that he could help me and she was able to share the burden of labor. Stephanie supported me through my contractions and offered suggestions to help manage the pain. Even when the pain became too great and I decided to get an epidural, Stephanie supported me every step of the way.
We also deeply cherish the pictures that she captured for us. Although I will never forget my birth experience, it is SO great to have these pictures to look back on. And, there are some things that she was able to capture that I may have missed (because of all those contractions haha!).
Many people have asked me what I thought about having a doula, and my response every time is, “We couldn’t have done it without Stephanie!”
